Bamboo Pathways and Innovation Hub Join Hands to Take Bamboo Skills on the Road

Bamboo Pathways Limited is proud to announce a new partnership with the Bamboo Innovation Hub, led by the dynamic and passionate artisan Drake Ndyamuhaki. Drake is the founder and CEO of Bamboo Innovation Hub Limited and has dedicated his life to teaching young people practical bamboo skills in weaving, basketry, construction, and craftsmaking.
In a recent meeting between Bamboo Pathways' David Munaaba and Gift Bibian Mukamulenzi, and Drake Ndyamuhaki, the two teams agreed to work together to expand and strengthen the mobile bamboo training workshop, an exciting, hands-on initiative that is already changing lives.
Thanks to a generous contribution of a van and tools from ZAM Bamboo (an organization known for working with children with disabilities and promoting bamboo wheelchairs), Drake now operates a mobile workshop that visits schools and community groups across Uganda. His mission is simple but powerful: train the next generation of bamboo artisans, especially young students who may never have imagined a future in sustainable bamboo industries.
Drake has already trained hundreds of youth, many of whom are now self-employed or working with his team. His ability to connect with young people and teach practical bamboo techniques has made him a well-known figure in the grassroots bamboo movement in Uganda.
How Bamboo Pathways is Helping
Bamboo Pathways will support the Innovation Hub by providing administrative and strategic support, enabling Drake and his team to focus on what they do best: training, product development, and innovation. The partnership includes:
Strengthening the **mobile bamboo workshop** model
Supporting training activities in **schools and youth groups**
Helping with **marketing and branding** of Bamboo Innovation Hub products
Connecting Drake with **development partners** and policy stakeholders
Why This Matters
This partnership brings the dream of a thriving bamboo economy closer to reality by investing in youth training, rural skills development, and practical innovation. Bamboo products like furniture, crafts, and even construction materials are not only sustainable but also profitable. And with the right support, artisans like Drake can train a generation that turns local bamboo into beautiful, valuable, and eco-friendly products.
